The movie was very well thought out through it's use of color as well as well as the use of sound to convey emotions. The fight scenes were very well rehearsed and the color was again a very important aspect of these scenes. They consistently gave the people who were supposed to win their matches a slight glow wen they were fighting. This was probably to help boost the effect the viewer's perceptions of the warriors. the camera constantly zoomed in and out during the fights. The sets were well designed in the sense that they looked authentic.

Peach Orchard

The story behind the movie was interesting in that there was a lot of foreshadowing in the movie especially in the beginning. The first thing that is focused on the screen is the vase containing a peach branch that was blossoming when it was picked. The lighting from the short film also tends to focus on the pink at the beginning which is the color of the peach blossoms. The dolls at the beginning show that there will be a hierarchy later on. Afterward the little girl shows that there will be a miniature at the end. Then when the real dolls appear the color becomes a shade of blue when the dolls begin to dance and then as the dance progresses the color changes to white. afterward it becomes pink again when the dolls disappear and the only tree left is the small one

The child is warned by his mother that foxes get married in rain when the sun shines and that they don't like human guests. The child then ignores his mother and goes into the forest. when he arrives he hears music and looks to see where it comes from. He gets home and his mother tells him that he is cursed and that a fox told her that he was seen then hands him a knife and tells him that he must kill himself or ask for forgiveness. He is told that foxes live rainbows. He eventually finds the bottom of the rainbow and there is nothing there meaning that he has to die.

The point of the film is probably to illustrate how curiosity the most primitive human emotion can hurt you or even kill you. In the end there is a lot of white which symbolizes death in the japanese culture. The foxes symbolize curses in the culture so they were probably used for a main theme for this purpose.

2/19 journal

Today I awakened to my alarm clock which I had just changed because my old alarm tone was not affecting me anymore. After this I took a shower, brushed my teeth and decided to head out the door. I slept on the bus for an hour and a half before getting to school. Here I interacted with my peers, Had lunch at an unreasonably early time came back and ended up typing this essay.

Personal Journal 1/12

This was a very interesting day. I woke up got ready for school and was ready to get some work done.When I got home I felt very bad, I had a high fever and could barely move. Then on during that afternoon I went directly to sleep and did not wake up until the late afternoon the next day.

"Lawrence of Arabia" Critique

Lawrence of Arabia was a good movie, However this is not about the movie but about the cinematography. The color scheme from the movie was mostly yellow, This helped to give the movie the effect of wandering a desert. Then The fact that the camera was always moving from left to right gave the movie a feel of progression. This was helped by psychology in the western world because we are used to reading from left to right. Another interesting thing about the movie was the costumes. The Costumes are supposed to look like historical figures from that time period. This was actually considered to be very true by many of the people who were reviewing the movie. The location of the camera for the fight scenes being shot from the bottom was a really good effect to give it a feel of pride and honor for the combatants.In the end the movie was very interesting.
